Ten Things You Have to Take With You On A Beach Holiday

There’s nothing better than feeling the warm sun on your skin, the sand between your toes and an ice cold drink in your hand. Sound like paradise? Well, a beach holiday can be! But before you jump on that plane and head off to Atlantis, The Palm Hotel, The Palm Hotel or that you have selected in a land far, far away land, have you packed your bags? Here are ten things that you just cannot leave home without. Make sure these items are in your bag before you’re in the air.

1. Sunscreen: This might be an obvious item, but remember that you need various types for different parts of your body i.e. your body and your face. Make sure that you take a sunscreen that is at least an SPF30.

2. Lip Balm. The extremely hot, long days during your holiday could result in dry, cracked lips. Don’t forget your lip balm behind, and be sure to get one that also has an SPF as there is nothing worse than burnt lips!

3. More than one good book. While most of us find it almost impossible to try and finish even one good book when we are at home, when you are on a beach holiday and have a lot of time to relax in the sun, you seem to get through books at a quicker pace! Take more than one.

4. Medication: Consider taking the medication essentials as there could be a night or two of food and drink overindulgence in your future. Do not forget to throw in some first aid items in case you do injure yourself or fall ill during your beach holiday.

5. One smart outfit: Even though beach holidays are very casual and you might find yourself in your bikini or shorts and a t-shirt most of the time, there will be evenings that a dress code is requested. Add a black dress or a collared shirt to the pile.

6. Comfortable shoes. Beach holidays are filled with days by the pool and beach, but are also include excursions to the local markets and town tours. This is when a good pair of comfortable shoes will save the day. Say no to blisters!

7. After-sun: When there is a lot of sun, there could be a lot of sunburn. No matter how careful you are, you could be prone to a bit of sunburn, which is not very comfortable. An aloe after sun solution will soothe any redness and have you back on the beach in no time!

8. A guide book. A guide book not only has a map of the beach holiday are that you are in, but will also give great insider tips to restaurants and shops and will also provide you with some local language phrases which could come in handy when conversing with the locals!

9. A light rain jacket: Unfortunately, even paradise needs a little rain sometimes. Take a lightweight jacket that is easy to pack, just in case you find yourself in an afternoon thundershower.

10. Gadgets: Phones, chargers, cameras and more! These gadgets will capture your memories at your beach resort holiday and fortunately, do not take up too much space in your bag. Happy snapping!
